Cricket Betting at tj — bet on BPL, IPL and international matches
From T20 to Test — tj gives you the chance to bet on every cricket format. Live odds during matches, a range of markets and support in Bangla — all in one place.
Cricket Formats and the competitions fans follow most
The first thing to understand in cricket betting is which format you are betting on. T20 matches finish in just a few hours, so results come quickly and the situation can change after every over. ODI matches are longer — 50 overs per side — so strategy matters more. Test cricket runs over five days, where the pace of play and pitch behaviour play a very large role.
For cricket fans in Bangladesh, BPL is the most popular domestic tournament. India's IPL also has a huge following here. Beyond those, the ICC T20 World Cup and Bangladesh Tigers international series attract the most betting interest.
At tj you can bet on matches from all these competitions across a range of markets. Placing your bet before the match starts is "pre-match" betting; betting while the match is in progress is "live betting" — each has its own approach.
Football and Other Sports
Alongside cricket, tj also offers betting on football. Football has three possible outcomes — home win, draw or away win — so the odds structure is different from cricket. In limited-overs cricket there is no draw option, so odds are split directly between two teams. In cricket's in-play markets, every wicket and every over shifts the odds — similar to goals in football but happening much more frequently.
Popular Betting Markets at tj — what you can bet on in each
Match Winner
The simplest market — choose which of the two teams will win. In T20 it is team A or team B; whichever you pick, the result is settled at the end of the match.
Toss Market
The result comes at the very start of the match — which team wins the toss. Pitch conditions mean the toss can sometimes influence the direction of the match.
Top Run Scorer
Which batter in a given team will score the most runs in that innings — this market is analysed by looking at the form of each team's leading batters.
Total Runs Over or Under
A specific run line is set, for example 160 runs. You bet on whether the total runs scored in the match will be above that line (over) or below it (under).
Multiple Bets Combined
In a multi bet, several selections are combined into one bet. If all selections are correct the return is higher — but if even one loses, the entire bet is lost.
First Innings Score Range
Choose a range for how many runs will be scored in the first innings. This market is analysed by considering the type of pitch and the batting strength of the teams.
Multi Bet Example
Say you make three selections across three different matches with odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.90 respectively. In a multi bet these odds are multiplied: 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.26 (rounded). On a ৳100 bet, if all three are correct the return is ৳426. However, if just one selection is wrong you lose the entire ৳100 — so a multi bet is for entertainment, not a reliable path to income.
Odds in Three Formats — Decimal, Fractional and American
Betting odds are written in three different ways. Most platforms in Bangladesh use decimal odds because they are easy to understand — to work out your return, simply multiply your stake by the odds.
| Format | Odds for team A to win | Odds for team B to win |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | 1.80 |
| Fractional | 2/1 | 4/5 |
| American | +200 | -125 |
Example 1 — if team A wins: on a ৳500 bet at decimal odds of 3.00, the return is ৳1,500 (৳1,000 profit + ৳500 original stake). If you lose, ৳500 is gone.
Example 2 — if team B wins (the favourite): at odds of 1.80, a ৳500 bet returns ৳900 (৳400 profit). In American format, -125 means you need to bet ৳125 to win ৳100.
All three formats express the same outcome — only the way they are written differs. On tj, odds are displayed in decimal format.
Live In-Play Betting — Wickets and Overs Shift the Odds
In cricket in-play betting, every moment of the match moves the odds. When a wicket falls, the batting team's odds lengthen (meaning the platform rates their chance of winning as lower) and the bowling team's odds shorten. Conversely, a big-scoring over improves the batting team's odds.
When a large number of runs are needed in the last five overs, odds can shift dramatically. After the powerplay, slow scoring in the middle overs or a sudden wicket — each event creates a new betting opportunity.
Decisions in live betting have to be made quickly, because odds can change within seconds. On tj you can see live score updates alongside the current markets for the match in progress.
Live betting is purely for entertainment — no pattern or "system" guarantees a profit in cricket. In any sports betting, outcomes are uncertain.
Some practical tips that are useful in cricket betting
- Understand the format before betting. The pace of play changes fast in T20; the middle overs matter more in ODIs. Be clear about which format you are betting on before you place a bet.
- Set a budget. Before each session, decide on a limit for yourself and stick to it — whether you are winning or losing.
- Build knowledge in one market. Rather than betting across all markets at once, try to understand one market properly first.
- Avoid rushing in live betting. Odds move fast in-play — making a decision without thinking it through can lead to regret.
- Betting is entertainment, not a source of income. Enjoy cricket betting — but never bet to try to get out of financial difficulty. Read more about responsible gaming.
